Short Breaks for Disabled Children Grant Fund 2013-14

The Short Breaks for Disabled Children Grant Fund from the Bradford and District Metropolitan District Council is now available to groups who provide services and support to disabled children, young people and their families. This fund is administered and delivered by Bradford and District Community Empowerment Network Limited, on behalf of the Council.

Funding is designed to enable organisations working with disabled children and young people up to the age of 19 years, across Bradford District, to improve the quality of short break provision. Short Breaks provide disabled children and young people opportunities to learn new skills, socialise with peers, and have fun and enjoyable experiences with or without their parents. At the same time their family can have a break from their caring role.

Between £1000 and £5,000 is available per organisation and the grant must be spent by end of February 2014. The closing date for receipt of applications is 12.00 noon, Thursday, 16th May 2013.

To apply please download the Guidance Notes and Application Form. The form can be returned via email before the closing date with a signed hard copy to follow.
