No Room? Hope for the Homeless in Bradford - 7 May 2009
Date: Thursday 7 May 2009
Time: 10.00am- 3:30pm
Venue: The Design Exchange, 34 Peckover Street, Little Germany, Bradford. BD1 5BD
The aim of the day is to share learning, reflect on down-to-earth theology and think strategically about how we can respond to homelessness.
Many churches and Christian projects in Bradford show their concern for the homeless by providing friendship, food and shelter. This day is an opportunity to come together with others in the city and district who are either engaged already with the homeless or who would like to be.
On this day we will:
- Find ways to support each other and work together
- Learn about national policy, issues and trends
- Sample good practice from projects locally and nationally
- Reflect theologically on our concerns and actions
- Hear about who is doing what, where, how in Bradford
- Consider a shared inter-church /cross-city strategic approach to homelessness in Bradford
Alistair Murray, Regions Co-ordinator at Housing Justice, is facilitating the day.
Other contributors include: Green Pastures, BEACON, Hope Housing, BOAZ Trust.
Hosted by Livability and Housing Justice. Both organisations have a passion to see churches take poverty seriously and bring hope to their communities.
£15 per person, including lunch, to be paid on the day. Booking essential.
Please contact Ruth Smith on 0113 350 8070 or rsmith@livability.org.uk and bring £15 with you on the day (cash or cheque made payable to Livability).
The Design Exchange is easily accessible by public transport - just a short walk from rail stations: Forster Square and Bradford Interchange. There are several car parks nearby.
