LGB Disability Network - 27 June 2009

Date: Saturday, 27 June 2009

Time: 12.30 – 3.30pm (starting with lunch)

Venue: The Morley Street Resource Centre, which is fully accessible, but if you have other access needs, please let us know. Travel costs can be reimbursed.

A small network of LGB disabled people have met a couple of times to gain support from each other and to look at how we would like our network to run.

Some of our ideas and thoughts have been:

Telephone network
Newsletter and email contact - for information and news
Speakers and activities
Trips and visits to accessible and welcoming places of interest
How to influence the Equity Partnership, as the infrastructure organisation for LGB groups in Bradford, and LGB groups and services in order to improve their accessibility and awareness of a wide range of disability issues
How to influence disability organisations and services so they can be more LGB friendly and appropriate
Campaigning on issues specifically affecting disabled LGB people
