BOPA stands for Bradford and District Older Peoples Alliance. BOPA is a network of older peoples voluntary & community sector groups & organisations. We work alongside the Older Peoples Partnership Board ensuring older people in the district are able to contribute to the decisions directly affecting their lives.
The Older Peoples Partnership Board have five groups each focusing on matters which are relevant to older people in Bradford today and developing strategies to help the older people of the future.
These groups include:
- Healthier Communities & Older People
- Involving Older People
- Economy, Employment & Learning
- Housing & Community Support Action Group
- Transport Action Group
BOPA has representatives on each of these groups. The BOPA representatives attend the groups and feedback progress reports to the BOPA committee and their own groups. This information is then relayed to the wider membership via the monthly newsletter.
BOPA often consults with its membership in order to ensure all relevant issues are being heard.
