Carers and Cared-for People Wanted to Test Out a New SmartPhone App

Would you or others within your organisation be interested in taking part in a user evaluation of App4Care?

Carers Resource is behind the development of App4Care, a suite of mobile apps designed to benefit carers and those they care for. It is designed to synchronise smartphone connection between carer and cared-for, enhancing day-to-day communication for the many busy people who support the care needs of relatives and friends. The 'carer' app provides the reassurance of timely and meaningful contact especially when juggling work with care or when caring at a distance. The 'cared-for' app assists those receiving care to live independently, contributing positively to feelings of dignity and wellbeing.

Further information can be found on the App4Care website at

The Health Design and Technology Institute (HDTI) at Coventry University is conducting an independent user evaluation of App4Care and is now recruiting volunteers to participate in testing and feedback. They would love to hear from you if you wish to become involved. If you are aware of others, colleagues or clients, who may be interested, please do not hesitate to forward details.

Your involvement would help to understand how easy the apps are to use and how useful they will prove in daily life. You can tell HDTI what you like or didn't like about the apps. You might also recommend improvement to the apps.
To participate, you will need to be able to pair with a cared-for person and have time to trial all aspects of App4Care functionality prior to completion of a short online survey.

You and your cared-for must own either an iPhone or Android smartphone with internet connection provided via 3g or 4g networks and/or Wi-Fi.

You will be provided with downloads of the apps and you will be asked which versions you require i.e. iPhone and/or Android. The apps work across platform, so if you are a carer using an iPhone and the cared-for uses Android (or vice versa) all functionality is fully supported.

The process is fully independent. HDTI will contact you with confirmation of the process and a request for your consent to continue.

All participants will be entered into a prize draw for a £50 gift voucher. For more information download the flyer below.
