Bradford Council has published its initial draft budget for 2013-14. The draft budget for 2013-14 went to the Council executive on 4 December where it approved that the proposals be circulated to the public for further consultation, probably in the New Year.
The budget document sets out where the Council intend to make savings and can be accessed via the council website below. The references to the voluntary and community sector are scattered throughout, with an overall statement right near the end.
Headlines are a cut on average of 4.7% in services funded through the Community Funding Unit (CFU) next year. However, domestic violence, advice and community centre core costs will be protected, so most groups funded via the CFU will be cut by 7.85%. Groups funded through other streams may be cut by a variety of amounts.
