Sharing Spaces Re-launch

Sharing Spaces is part of Bradford Environmental Education Services (BEES), the environmental department of Bradford YMCA. BEES offers environmental education opportunities to young people, volunteers, community groups, schools and businesses; enabling people to positively shape both outdoor spaces and their own lives. The team have recently been awarded Reaching Communities funding from the Big Lottery to run a Shaping Spaces programme for three years.

The programme will work with young people not in education, employment or training to develop their life-skills and opportunities, while equipping them with accredited practical skills (in partnership with Shipley College) which provide a stepping stone into training and/or employment. Through working on land-based projects around Bradford alongside experienced professionals, young people will gain valuable experience and make a positive difference in their own life and in the community.

The Sharing Spaces programme runs 2-3 days per week for 12 weeks. It is for 16-25 year olds but enquiries for people aged 10-34 years are welcome. The first programme starts in January 2016 but taster sessions will be taking place prior to this. For further information about the programme please contact or telephone 01274 371305.
